WIP 29/04/15

Last week I mentioned that I was going to start working on a new project from the No Progress List.

Back in 2012 I hosted and took part in the We Bee Learning bee (for more info on the bee check out the quilting bees tab. Sign ups for the summer round will start soon)
We had 12 members full of lovely ladies from around the world including my mother and friend.

Last year one of the members ( i wont mention her by name, but she has a lovely blog and is a equally lovely person) said she didn't think she would ever get around to making the quilt and wanted to know if I knew of someone that would give them a good home. Since 3 of the blocks had a connection to me I thought yes I could give them a good home.

This is what I have. I think I will make 3 more and put the one with the coloured corners on the back

All cut and ready to be sewn

All sewn up

excuse my photo taking capabilities. I know I would getter better quality pic from my camera vs my phone...but i'm lazy..lol.

All the blocks together.

I was thinking of using sashing and a border..but I decided against both since i quite like the way it looks as is
The tiny white writing is just my blog name. I recently saw one of my pictures in a search for something and thought...hmm i should put my name on my pics but i hated how it looked..so i made is small..lol

Okay now the next item I am starting to work on is not on my no progress list. However, I have to work on it soon or lil Pickle will be to old to play with them. While in Palm Springs we made a stop at Jo-ann's fabric store. We don't have that store up here and it was always a dream of mine to go to one...lol I bought a few(aka a lot) of circut dies, but not a lot of fabric. Although the fabric was cute it was still more expensive then what I can buy at home before the exchange rate (which sucked boo dollar) So i just bought 5 FQ and which included the one below that I will use to make the free pattern I picked up too.

Next weeks goal

  1. Those Greek Cross blocks are certainly worthy of a finish. So glad to see you are working on putting them together. That fat quarter will also make a lovely nursery block. Cute, cute, cute!

  2. Love the look of those cross blocks! The gray corners set them apart from the usual cross/plus-sign blocks that I have seen before. I've also seen patterns for fabric blocks, I think they're darling. I just have to find some babes to make them for first! Lol.

    1. Thanks it's been fun to work on. As soon as I saw the fabric blocks pattern I knew I had to make them. Super cute!

  3. Great work on your progress made so far. I have a similar goal to finish more projects than I start and have joined the 2015 Finish a long with Adrienne at On The Windy Side to inspire me.

    1. Thank you. its been a nice feeling to work on my no progress list. I am sure you can relate :)

  4. Those blocks make a very pretty quilt!
