Harvest Monday September 5th 2011
It was a bit of a slow week for harvesting. Everything is slowly coming to an end and the cool nights are not helping. This week we are suppose to have a heat streak with days going up to 34C. That should help everything out.
On Friday we had a huge cucumber harvest. 85lbs!! Now that is a lot of cucumbers. Still not sure what I will do with them!
Tuesday saw the 1st harvest of corn. It wasn’t as sweet as peaches n cream should be. However, I may have just over cooked it.
The onions are officially all harvested. I plan on braiding the ones I picked a few weeks back this evening so those will be added to next week’s total. I picked the rest today and I will be freezing these. Their total is 16lbs
Yesterday I harvest carrots, beets, corn, and potatoes and didn’t take a damn picture of them! They were for a lady in the city and my parents took them in for me last night....so no picture there, but I did weigh everything.
Weekly totals for September 5th
Corn 5lbs/2.26kg
Carrots 6lbs/2.72kg
Potatoes, red 10.4lbs/4.7kg

I would like to thank Daphne from Daphne’s Dandelions for hosting Harvest Mondays. Please stop by her site and visit some other great blogs as well.
Wow! what a bounty your garden has produced. You'll be canning all week.:o)
ReplyDeleteYou could send some of those cucumbers to me! Please! In desperation, I spent two hours yesterday driving from one Amish farm to the next trying to find some pickling cucumbers. It was a long unsuccessful drive :(
ReplyDeleteYou had a great harvest week for sure!
