My Stop on the Dots on Dots Hop
Welcome to day 4 of the Dots on Dots Blog Hop
Today is an extra special day since it is also my 4th wedding Anniversary.
I would like to say thank you to Madame Samm for creating
this hop and to Corrie for being our dotty cheerleader.
I know I say this every hop, but I really do
enjoy taking part. I love the push to make something, the inspiration that
flows from blog to blog each day and of course the cheering on. No matter what
kind of day I am having getting an inbox full of such kind comments does
wonders to one`s soul!
I will admit to hitting a bit of a road block when it came
to this hop. I had lots of dot fabric, but I couldn’t think of a thing to make.
This resulted in a lot of time just sitting in my craft room and thinking....I
am sure some of you could see the smoke coming from Saskatchewan...ya that was me...lol
Finally I decided to make a block for my SewHappyGeek QAL quilt.
Now the QAL ended almost 6 months ago and I am still dawdling behind. Most
of the fabric I am using for the quilt has....well you guessed it DOTS so it
only seemed right to make a few blocks and kill 2 birds with one stone!
This one is called peek a boo. All the fabric has dots except for the black. Sometimes tone on tone
dots don’t work...LOL
The 2nd block I made I am going to use in the same quilt but it was not part
of the QAL. I decided to skip the paper piecing block and just make something
else I had never tried before. What I ended up with was a framed rail fence. I
really like this block.
I like to try and make at least one block that I can say is just for me during each blog hop. Therefore, the final block I made was from my head . I wanted to make something to remind me that even though
life can get dark at times the sun is always shining. I am going to turn this
into a wall hanging for my craft room.
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to look at my
dotty creations. I hope you all have a lovely time on your stop. J Now go and check out
the blogs listed below I am sure there are some more great dots creations to be
found! To check out the full schedule just click the link above and that should take you to Corries site.

I like that you combined your QAL and blog hop in one. Your own creation on the suns rays is my favorite. of, course, with winter coming-it could also be snowmen dancing in a circle :)

ReplyDeleteLovely blocks...love the way you used the dotty fabric! Yay for you!
ReplyDeleteI share your sentiment about how these blogs push us and inspire us to create and actually finish something!!! Plus, it is nice to see how different each of us interpret the theme. I admit to some "pondering' on this go round myself but you succeeded in making something you like and can use in a quilt later on.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
