My stop on the SIWF blog hop!!

Hello and welcome to my
stop on the Say it with Flowers blog hop.
Thank you to the creative brains behind this hop MADAME SAMM and to Cheerleader extraordinaire CAROL organizing all of us!!

If you haven't visited before let me tell you a  bit about myself. I started this blog to document my garden and soon found the online quilting community. Now my blog shares two of my passions along with other randomness that sometimes grows in my brain. Like my header says...."Sewing, Sowing and More"

I hope you enjoy your visit today

Living in Saskatchewan the "flower" season doesn't really start until June/July. In May some times we still have snow like this year and other times it just isn't warm enough for all the lovely blooms to appear.

Usually around the middle of May I do have some flowers to adore, TULIPS! They were planted long ago by the houses previous owner, but I love them all the same. They also acted as my inspiration for this hop.

My ode to tulips

I know I know its not done and for this hop I think we were suppose to have completed projects. I got it to this point a few weeks ago and then planting the garden got in the way.

My fellow flowery friends have some lovely creations today too. Please check them out

  10. I like your tulip. I am sure the tulip garden will grow when the "outside" work is done. I also have tulips which have been coming up for years but lost some this year when a groundhog thought a new home was more needed than flowers. Tulips mean to me that spring is coming along.

  12. You definitely have said it with flowers with your Saskatchewan Tulips!! Love them :>)
There's an old Dutch (tulip country) song called "Tulpen uit Amsterdam" / "Tulips from Amsterdam" and it always comes to my mind when I see tulips (from) abroad.
    Lovely job!
    Cheers,

    Jeanneke.

  16. Your ode to tulips is very pretty Mrs. Pickles. I have to say how remarkable the difference is between where you and I live. In the GREAT state of TEXAS (I'm in the central part) we start planting onions and potatoes in January and February and by July it's a struggle to keep everything watered enough to keep it alive. But for now I'm happily hoeing weeds out of my black eyed peas !

  32. Looks done enough for some pretty pictures! Gardening can be time consuming, clearing out the old beds for the new growth and such?

I love tulips and always look forward to my friend in BC sharing pictures of the rows upon rows of beautiful tulips at the farm/nursery near her home. The mountain off in the distance---oh my!

  40. Very cute though. I know what you mean trying to get my garden done also. I have to many flower beds that got negelected last year. They are making me pay this year. I have put 70 bags of soil on them and one load of mulch. I need at least 40 more bags to finish. But they will look good. I hope.
