With 18lbs of kohlrabi picked and another 18 i am guessing still in the garden I have been trying a few different way to prepare it.
My favourite way is to simply peel the kohlrabi, slice it up and sprinkle some aromat on it. I then dip it into mayo!
I tried barbecuing it.....I wouldn't suggest that. It made it really sweet, but very hard.
I tried cooking it the way my mother said my grandmother use to make it.
First you peel the kohlrabi and cut it into chunks
Then you boil it until tender, about 20mins
In a skillet heat butter until melted. Add kohlrabi to pan and saute until just starts to turn brown. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
I must say it was pretty darn good
