Christmas QAL 2012 pt 2
However, I then decided that maybe I would since it doesn't have to be a quilt maybe I could turn it into a wall hanging or a table cloth or something like that. I don't know if that will be a possibility since it is a mystery quilt and I don;t know what it is going to look like.
I figure I can pick my fabric and have it ready to go and when the time comes that there are more clues about what it is going to look like then I can cut it all up and start. It isn't race just a fun time to work on Christmas projects so all should be okay.
Okay so for the quilt it is suppose to be scrappy, but since all my Christmas fabric is brand new so kinda scrappy kinda not.....We need a background colour, light, medium and dark.....which is the hard part I am horrible at picking fabric to go together!
I decided on white for the background since what is lighter than white...light white...?? For my light I have this pretty tan/gold fabric with stars that I thought might work well. For the medium I have this red/black fabric that I love, but I don't think it will work and then just a plain green. Hmmm I don't love this combo, but it is okay
What about this?? Too Busy...too green on green..too blah
Okay back to the stash to pick some new options for the dark and medium....I have blues...hmmmm blues yes blues would be great....
You might be thinking wow all she has done is picked or almost picked fabric. You are right! I also got distracted and started working on my Feb block for the we bee learning bee....oops. In addition to that Mr.Pickles was suppose to be home at 3 for lunch. I decided to be stupid and try and make Pork Tenderloin en Croute. I just finished up everything and now I am waiting for him to call and say he is on is way home before i start to cook the sucker in the oven..........its now 4pm by the way....I think lunch is now going to be dinner!
Love your fabric selection for the mystery quilt! It will be a very pretty one :)
ReplyDeleteI like the white and lite - pull the red from the first with the green check in the second and you are fine.
ReplyDeleteYour post perfectly fits my new favorite quote, “Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.”

I agree with Sharon, but this quilt doesn't have to be in Christmas fabrics, it could be anything. After all, turquoise, lite green, peach and white aren't exactly Christmassy, and I know what the quilt is going to look like!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a fun day sewing. I didn't get to stitch until evening so I missed some of the fun.
ReplyDeleteMyself, I'd do the white & light at Sharon & Sue say, then I'd use the red/green with the snowflake as the medium, and the dark green solid as the dark.
ReplyDeleteYou've been really busy and the next step on this isn't for another month, so plenty of time to think about it!
Thank you for coming to the Christmas QAL party - look forward to seeing you at Joanna's in March!
Mrs. Pickles: Thank you so so much for my Valentine Craft package. I love it!!! I cannot wait to blog about it!
