Thursdays Kitchen Cupboard 23/02/2012

This week my kitchen actually was well used. We were only in the city once and the rest of the time we ate at home. I even tried a couple of new dishes that turned out to be pretty tasty. I apologize for the pictures I always forget to take one until we are just about done the meal...so these are "pot"pictures of the meals with out the carbs or the sides...lol

Friday we had Italian sausage and peppers. I know there are a lot of recipes out there for this, but I didn’t think of that until after I made it. For just throwing things together that I thought might taste good it turned out pretty darn good. I used onions, broccoli and canned tomato sauce all from the garden.

Saturday we went to the city and just had some yummy pizza.....it was nothing special, but we had not eaten lunch yet so when the pizza arrived at 7pm it was amazing..LOL

Sunday center loin Pork chops in a Mornay sauce with pasta and asparagus. This was my first time ever making mornay sauce and I LOVE IT. I don't know why I have never made it before!

Monday was a simple meal of Ham Steak, Fries and corn

Tuesday we had racelette..... This is a rather stinky French melting cheese. You just cut off a few chunks and melt them on plates in the oven. When the cheese is melted you eat it along with baked potatoes and a side of pickles. We usually start the meal off with a simple broth soup.

Wednesday Chicken Stir fry

This whole next week we will only be in the city 2 times so it should be another yummy week in the kitchen! I need to start using up some of my harvest that I froze/canned before its time to start harvesting again so this week I am going to try and use as much home grown food as I can!

Today's Kitchen Cupboard linky party is being hosted by Jody from Spring Garden Acre. Go on over and check out what's going on in everyone's kitchens!

Take care

  1. Yummy! It sounds like you've been eating well around your place this week. That french cheese sounds very good.
