Monday Mishmash

With two great giveaway blog hops going on in December I was actually a pretty lucky gal. Another one of the neat prizes I won was this lovely fabric from Nann at http://withstringsattached.blogspot.com/

Thank you Nann I can’t wait to put this to good use.

I also wanted to thank everyone for their kind comments and wonderful tips about my blocks. I am going to try and not be so hard on myself. However, it is one of the things that I am really really good at doing! I really enjoyed making both blocks and if they were for my eyes only I would have been jumping up and down. In fact I was until I thought oh shoot now I am going to have to post about them..LOL

In the Bee Creative 2012 Bee that I am in hosted by the lovely Josie over at Insanity Defense our January block is a paper pieced Union Jack. I have never paper pieced before and when I saw what we were going to have to do for our first month I almost fainted! However, I am also excited to give it a try. Especially after seeing how great everyone else’s blocks look. Laura our lovely hostess for January said that we could pick any colour combo we wanted. I have an idea of what I am going to choose...now I just have to figure out how to paper piece! I have until the 20th of this month to get it in the mail so here’s to hoping that I can figure it out by then.

In other news yesterday it was +7C in January!!! WOW I don’t know what to think about this amazing weather we are having. They were calling for a very cold winter and this is what we are having. I think we are still in for something awful in the next month or so. However, in the mean time any extra day with out -40C with the wind-chill is just a blessing!

  2. no joke about the weather! Illinois is normally covered in snow and sitting between 20-32 (F) the other day I had on a tee shirt and jeans an did some running aound without a coat because it was 50 out! how crazy fantastic is that! I am however waiting for the other shoe to drop and whereas we normally ease into winter it is going to hit us all like a ton of bricks!!!

  3. Paper piecing can be addictive, so have fun with it!
It was about 75F here all weekend (I think that's around 39C? ). We're having a "cold front" today and it is 56F. I can't even imagine -40C! Brrrr......
